Everybody who's been in the dating and relationships game for a bit has gone through a breakup at least once. But no matter how many times you go through a breakup, it is never easy, specially when the breakup was the cause of a stupid misunderstanding or some bad behavior that you weren't aware of. In such cases, it is easy to wonder how to get your ex back.
Getting an ex back is possible - simple, actually - as long as you keep certain things in mind. For example, it is easy to resort to hounding your ex just after a breakup, calling them up and asking them for another chance. This actually does the exact opposite. While it is arguably usual to feel dependent on an ex, making it obvious will only make things worse.
Why is this? it's just as you are not giving your ex some time to themselves. The more you show up or get in touch with them, the more they'll think of the cause you broke up - and it will just reinforce the idea that breaking up with you was the correct thing to do.
If you desire to get your ex back, you will need to do the opposite of stalking them - and that's to give them a little space. This works for various causes, one of which is the mere fact that both of you require some alone time to sort your emotions out over the breakup, it will also give you the time and opportunity to fix your life. Try to think of the reasons that led to the breakup. If the breakup occurred as you had a bad habit that you couldn't kick, you can take this time to try to truly kick it for good.
An additional cause why giving yourselves some space can help you get your ex back is that your ex will have the opportunity to do the same things you're doing at this point. After some days of not hearing from you, your ex will begin noticing the difference between what it was like when you were still together, and now that you're gone. When they begin feeling the void that you used to fill, they become more prone to call you up and see how you are doing.
Another bad habit to avoid is to try to make your ex jealous by immediately going out and hooking up with a new partner. This most certainly will not get your ex back. If you do this, it'll give your ex the idea that you can get along just fine without them - and the idea that they can live without you, as well. Worse, they might be tempted to do the similar thing and try to make you jealous. These things never end well.
If you want to get your ex back, learn from your mistakes. Just after you fix things up within yourself can you expect to start fixing your relationships.
