This memory option allocates 1500 titles with no illustrations above the 200 that the first Kindle can save. Owing to the large internal memory, Amazon decided not to include an SD expansion slot to the Kindle 2.
Faster Operation - Amazon had faster operation in mind when they created this second version of the Kindle wireless reading device. Page-restoring is a lot faster and it contains a much faster processor than its first version. There is now an International release of the Kindle 2 that operates in over a hundred other countries. The only official difference in the International version is that it accesses some other network than the US versions.
Other benefits of the new Kindle include an improved joystick, finer picture, a Whispersync option and a text to speak function.
